Physical Therapy

By admin | December 31, 2009

Physical therapy is a treatment modality that uses physical means to treat a wide range of disorders. Physical therapists or physiotherapists use a wide range of modalities such as stretching, strengthening, manipulation, massage, supportive aid, retraining, electrotherapeutic aids, ultrasound, water exercise, etc to treat a wide range of conditions ranging from paediatric rehabilitation to sports injuries to workers rehabilitation to respiratory disorders. Many other health related disciplines also use these physical therapy agents in their treatment approaches as well. Many times, a lot of the treatment has to be carried out and continued at home by the patient and not just in the clinical setting.
