Who in the world takes dental assistant courses? That’s easy! People interested in becoming dental assistants, of course! With dentist procedures becoming more technically advanced, the need for good, qualified dental assistants will be on the rise in the coming years. Community and junior colleges, trade schools, and technical institutes have adjusted to this need by increasing their dental assistant programs. Some may choose to get on the job training, but this alternative does not get the prospective assistant licensing or certification that many states require, nor does it train them to perform some of the more advanced functions, like radiological procedures.
