When the laptop I was using for a long time went out order I took it to a technician. He inspected it and told me that the mother board was broken. He quoted a very high price for replacement of the motherboard. He explained that the cost of a new motherboard is about $700 and on top of it, there are the labor charges. When I thought about it, I felt that it is better to go for a new one than repair laptop. Paying a little more than the repair charges I could get a later model laptop with a new warranty for the whole unit. My advice for everyone is that if the repair charges are high, better go for a new one.
